Soul Path Steps - December 2013

Hi there!

December has been a month! Well in fact the whole last 3 months have been pretty memorable. Not all in a good way either. I've been in and out of hospital - thankfully I'm on the mend. My Mr Handsome Paramedic has had quite a journey too - a theme that is set to continue into next year as we received news this morning that is not good at all. Please accept my apologies for not opening up about this news, but I am doing out of respect for my Mr as we both come to terms with it as it's pretty raw right now. What I can say is that I know that he is going to need my support more than ever next year.

Anyway, I wanted to chat with you about my Soul Path Steps for this month. You may recall if you were reading my blog back then, that I was a member of the Soul Path Tribe with my Soul Coach & Friend Lyn Thurman. Well I kind of faded away from group and I can now in hindsight see why I was drawn away.

There were many soul reasons that I have discovered; needing closure in relationships (not romantic), finding myself, healing myself, being at one with myself and my Mr, and being open to new opportunities. I embraced them, whether I wanted to or not and I've accepted them. The lessons are plain for me to see now.

So, then comes December and after getting home from hospital I start thinking about this year, where it's taken me, the journey I've been on and beginning closure on 2013. It may seem premature but when you're laid up resting with nothing else to do you can't help yourself. So I grabbed my Leonie Dawson 2013 Life & Biz Planners and start highlighting all my achieved goals, and then I grabbed my Soul Path Tribe folder and start reminiscing about everything I've achieved in 12 months and how far I've come within as well as the manifestations. That was when my heart longed for the SPT again. So the 15th (I think) I paid my monthly dues and signed up again. I printed out the workbook for December and told Paul (Lyn's husband) that I was hoping to squeeze in a few goals before the end of the month.

The Goddess of December for SPT is White Buffalo Calf  Woman - a goddess I thought I would easily connect with. I have HUGE love for Native American folklore, traditions and the like. It was only yesterday morning that I tweeted Lyn on Twitter and told her I was struggling to connect with her. This morning I discovered why. There was a far pressing matter playing out in my life that I was unaware of and the Mr & I discovered it today. It was then that I felt compelled to find time to discover White Buffalo Calf Woman more.

So I re-read the myth of WBCW in my workbook again, and did some research online. I discovered that she had in fact been with me all along - helping me find peace again, helping me to be at peace and extending that peace to others. I've been far more compassionate and understanding in my relationship this month, communication between us has been dramatically improved, and I've been more at peace with myself. It seems I was trying to hard to connect with her and I was worrying about not having an altar in place in honour of her. She was there with me all along.

Then I decided to peek at my goals I set for this month and surprised myself that I have completed so many already with others either in the 'hopeful' pile or the 'still in process' pile. Let me share with you what I have achieved this month according to my Soul Path Tribe workbook.

  • Begin a cross-stitch project (butterflies)
  • Follow a recipe and cook something I've never cooked before - I did! I cooked shortbread cookies
  • Analyse career and business - I did and I've scrapped what I don't enjoy anymore in time for 2014
  • Monitor my finances
  • Be more compassionate & understanding
  • Read a Christmassy Chick-Lit Novel - I did! I read Calling Mrs Christmas and Reviewed it here
  • Conduct research into my career and take action steps

Not bad seeing as I've spent a lot of time resting and recuperating. I still have goals I'd love to meet by the end of the year, but even if I don't, I'm happy to let those roll away or take some of them with me into 2014. I just want to add a thank you to the Soul Path Tribe for welcoming me back and for the support they've given me this year xx

There's No Place Like Home

As you know from my previous post, I had been renovating this blog and challenged myself to allow this blog to return to it's what I feel, it's glory of when I post here like I would in a journal. So, today, 1st August, I put out a request to the Universe to guide me on how I can create this blog the way I want it. Then I came across "Effy Wild" and read her blog. I had my answer. I would accept the challenge of 30 days of postings as I "BlogAlong with Effy" .

Day 1: There's No Place Like Home

Today marks the day that I have lived in my home for 23 glorious years. it was only about 10 years ago when I discovered paganism that I realised this anniversary fell upon Lammas. The move date wasn't organised because of the date, but rather life unfolded naturally and it just so happened that we moved into this home at Lammas.

I have had some of the best times of my life here in this house, and I've also had some of the downright most awful times here in my life. Right now, the house's energy is rebuilding itself after being abused by workmen - You know when you feel like your house just ain't happy? Well, our house ain't happy with the damage done by the workmen! No amount of smudging and singing bowl banging has helped, instead filling it with laughter and hopefulness has had to build up good vibes over the past few years.

The best times I've had here include the time when I received my "Pass" letter that told me I had passed my accountancy exams - I still remember that day now! I've also begun studying at University here in this house, I recall how and where I studied for that first ever module. It's also the house that I used to exercise in when I was younger and had a passion for aerobic videos (Rosemary Conley, Lizzie Webb, Shape Challenge, and so many more!), It's also the house where I used to dance late at night with my father whilst my mother watched us, laughing and smiling! It's the house that my baby Magick (cat) came to live with me in, the house where I thought I'd killed him by lying on him in bed when he was a baby - he was hiding under the bed, I couldn't see him. It's the house that I stood in my bedroom reading the newspaper that featured my first ever published in print article. It's the house that I studied to be a life coach in, and it's the house that I now run my life coaching online consultations and motivations from.

The bad times here, have been exactly that - downright bloody awful. Like the time that I was waking up on a Sunday Morning to the phone ringing and my Mum answering. From my bedroom I heard her call my Dad from the bathroom and he spoke on the phone before bursting into tears on my bed telling me that my aunty Doris had passed away after having another stroke. It's the house that was getting ready to celebrate the beginning of the Millenium, when at 8:30pm, literally less that 4 hours to seeing in the new year and the millennium, my beloved cat, Tinkerbelle, passed away, ripping out the entire families hearts. We went to bed by 10pm that night. No new year celebrations. It's also the house that I stood in when I watched my Dad leave the house for a hospital appointment 9 years ago and I stood by the front door watching him get in a cab with my Mum, and I said to my cat, Pepsie, I'm never going to see him again - 3 months later, he passed away in hospital from Cancer, I hadn't seen him since the day he left for the appointment as he deteriorated so rapidly and badly, it would have been too traumatic for me. It's the house that I was rushed to hospital from at 7 years old with food poisoning that almost killed me.

BUT...

It's the house that has been my home. It's the house that keeps me safe, that contains all my childhood memories, the house that comforted me when I was recovering from the abusive relationship. It's my house that keeps me warm and dry, the house that is my sanctuary when I want to shut the world out, it's the house that I dream my dreams, hope to achieve my goals, plan for my future. It's my home that gave me the childhood that I am so thankful for having, the fun, the laughs, the birth of dreams.

It's my home. It's my childhood. It's who I am. It's a part of me.

It's All About Gratitude

Gratitude is a topic that has become so talked about that even non spiritual folk throw the word around every now and then. There are countless books, blogs, websites and even Facebook pages dedicated to gratitude and teaching us how we can become more grateful in our lives.

Practicing the art of gorgeous gratitude - that is making the conscious decision to express, feel, think and say words of gratitude on a daily basis is where the magic happens. When we find ourselves desiring new experiences, people, places, objects and feelings we do so because we believe that the acquisition of them will make us feel better, happier, more prosperous, more loved etc etc. I believe in truth it's not a specific object we desire but a better more positive feeling within our core that we desire.

However if you are enjoying living a sassy human experience (me too!) then chances are you will at some point perhaps want a newer car, a bigger house, a better job, more money, the latest phone, the newest iGadget etc. How can we go about manifesting these? How we can we tap into the cosmos and give our cosmic order a boot up the sweet behind? We can practice Gratitude Girlfriend!

The more you practice gratitude the more abundance (not limited to the cash in your purse or wallet) that you will experience in your life! Practicing Gratitude has to be one of the surest ways and also the quickest, most effective method for raising your energy levels, your positivity and those feel good brain chemicals. There has been a study conducted by psychologists into how having a happy brain affects our lives.
I have learnt so much about how we CAN re-train our brain this re-programming our negative mindsets so that we become much happier and healthier human beings. Richard Davidson et al (2002) ran research studies that showed the difference between happy and unhappy brains and how it linked to our levels of happiness. By having a happy brain, by thinking positive and loving thoughts about ourselves and to ourselves we can increase our levels of happiness in life. Richard Davidson used a EEG machine (Electroencephalograph) to measure which parts of our brains are active with happy thoughts, and which parts are active when we think negatively. He found that when we tend to think more happy thoughts and are feeling happy we have more activity in the front left side of our brain, and when we are feeling more negative and thinking unhappy thoughts, the front right side of our brain is active.
Doesn’t that just make it worth taking a chance on gratitude? If gratitude can make us happy then we should most definitely give it a try.

I'd love you to leave a comment below and tell me how you practice the art of gratitude and/or what you thought of my latest Podcast

April Goals

Well the sun is finally shining here in England, and I am simply loved up on life. I couldn't wait for April to arrive so I could hang out my washing, I mean Goals for the month! I like to use the term STANDARDS rather than goals, but in my pretty little head they mean the same thing.

I mentioned in my last blog how I was part of the Soul Path Tribe with my friend and Soul Coach Lyn Thurman, well this month I am dancing with delight at my goals that I have set myself.

I love accountability and I love achieving my standards. I have to admit, I got started on my goals for April during the last part of March - unintentionally I might add, but Success came my way and I delighted in it.

One of my goals / standards was to flirt more with men, smile more and slowly lower the barrier that I've placed around my heart after what I'd been through. Thing is, once I made that decision to change my life, and raised my standards (my life coaching motto - Visit my coaching page here), Love showed up for me.

Yes ladies, I have a very handsome, caring, loveable, devoted guy in my life! He came out of the blue - or green should I say - He is the most lushest handsome, Paramedic I have ever known! He earned himself HUGE kudos for recognising that I am a Goddess, and even tells me every day. So yeah, pretty loved up here.

What is interesting is that a couple of weeks prior to him showing up in my life, I told my fellow Soul Path Tribe friends that I felt ready to open my heart to love once more, and that I actually felt that "HE" was coming - he'd got down from the tree he was stuck in and he was finally searching for me.

It was the most intense feeling ever, and then "MIRACLE" he found me. I listened to my H.I.N.G.E sisters! (HINGE stands for Higher Intuitive Nurturing Guiding Expression - I totally OWN the HINGE - My coaching can show you how you too can OWN the HINGE in your life!) By the way, he wasn't stuck in a tree but he had hurt his ankle - a sprain - possibly from jumping out the tree :P

So I want to share with you my Goals for April - I hope you ladies will hold me accountable for them! Below SHARE with me your goal/goals for this month and I will hold YOU accountable for them.
