There's No Place Like Home

As you know from my previous post, I had been renovating this blog and challenged myself to allow this blog to return to it's what I feel, it's glory of when I post here like I would in a journal. So, today, 1st August, I put out a request to the Universe to guide me on how I can create this blog the way I want it. Then I came across "Effy Wild" and read her blog. I had my answer. I would accept the challenge of 30 days of postings as I "BlogAlong with Effy" .

Day 1: There's No Place Like Home

Today marks the day that I have lived in my home for 23 glorious years. it was only about 10 years ago when I discovered paganism that I realised this anniversary fell upon Lammas. The move date wasn't organised because of the date, but rather life unfolded naturally and it just so happened that we moved into this home at Lammas.

I have had some of the best times of my life here in this house, and I've also had some of the downright most awful times here in my life. Right now, the house's energy is rebuilding itself after being abused by workmen - You know when you feel like your house just ain't happy? Well, our house ain't happy with the damage done by the workmen! No amount of smudging and singing bowl banging has helped, instead filling it with laughter and hopefulness has had to build up good vibes over the past few years.

The best times I've had here include the time when I received my "Pass" letter that told me I had passed my accountancy exams - I still remember that day now! I've also begun studying at University here in this house, I recall how and where I studied for that first ever module. It's also the house that I used to exercise in when I was younger and had a passion for aerobic videos (Rosemary Conley, Lizzie Webb, Shape Challenge, and so many more!), It's also the house where I used to dance late at night with my father whilst my mother watched us, laughing and smiling! It's the house that my baby Magick (cat) came to live with me in, the house where I thought I'd killed him by lying on him in bed when he was a baby - he was hiding under the bed, I couldn't see him. It's the house that I stood in my bedroom reading the newspaper that featured my first ever published in print article. It's the house that I studied to be a life coach in, and it's the house that I now run my life coaching online consultations and motivations from.

The bad times here, have been exactly that - downright bloody awful. Like the time that I was waking up on a Sunday Morning to the phone ringing and my Mum answering. From my bedroom I heard her call my Dad from the bathroom and he spoke on the phone before bursting into tears on my bed telling me that my aunty Doris had passed away after having another stroke. It's the house that was getting ready to celebrate the beginning of the Millenium, when at 8:30pm, literally less that 4 hours to seeing in the new year and the millennium, my beloved cat, Tinkerbelle, passed away, ripping out the entire families hearts. We went to bed by 10pm that night. No new year celebrations. It's also the house that I stood in when I watched my Dad leave the house for a hospital appointment 9 years ago and I stood by the front door watching him get in a cab with my Mum, and I said to my cat, Pepsie, I'm never going to see him again - 3 months later, he passed away in hospital from Cancer, I hadn't seen him since the day he left for the appointment as he deteriorated so rapidly and badly, it would have been too traumatic for me. It's the house that I was rushed to hospital from at 7 years old with food poisoning that almost killed me.

BUT...

It's the house that has been my home. It's the house that keeps me safe, that contains all my childhood memories, the house that comforted me when I was recovering from the abusive relationship. It's my house that keeps me warm and dry, the house that is my sanctuary when I want to shut the world out, it's the house that I dream my dreams, hope to achieve my goals, plan for my future. It's my home that gave me the childhood that I am so thankful for having, the fun, the laughs, the birth of dreams.

It's my home. It's my childhood. It's who I am. It's a part of me.

Angel Dreams Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue

Published by Hay House

By now, you all should now that when Doreen Virtue releases a new product I cannot wait to read it or use it and this oracle deck was no different. I've taken my time somewhat in writing up my review of these and have probably used this oracle deck more than any other (even though I sincerely adore all Doreen's decks). I've made it my mission to really utilize the power in these cards by using them in a variety of ways which I will share with you.

First things first, Doreen teamed up with Melissa Virtue (dream interpretor and daughter-in-law to Doreen) to create this 55 card deck. In this beautifully illustrated card deck, Doreen and Melissa reveal the meaning of 55 basic dream symbols. "The accompanying guidebook explains how to conduct 'dream readings' to resolve your deepest questions and concerns and shine light upon your unconscious mind. In this way, you can harness the power of your dreams to steer yourself in your desired direction! "

In the guidebook you are given wonderful new and exciting card layouts to help guide your reading and aid your understanding. I tried a layout of my own and found the reading to be highly insightful and accurate. I could relate to the guidance and even looked out for what guidance it gave me for up and coming events.

The Dream Spiral Lay Out

I have found these cards very useful when consulting them after a dream that I may not have understood. The first time I consulted the cards after I woke up, I pulled the "Fire" card (pictured below) and it helped me realise the meaning of the dream I'd had which was by no coincidence only divine and perfect synchronicity-  about a fire!

I've also used these cards to guide my day ahead as you would do with any other card deck and have found that they are very complementary to any other deck and of course radiate guidance for your day ahead. I've felt closer to my spiritual practice with the angels using this deck, perhaps because I am a bit of a "Dream Freak" in that my intuitive abilities are at their strongest in my dream time. My intuitive dreams began when I was 13 with the dramatic plane crashes and such, to even witnessing Heaven prepare for a passing from our world back into theirs - our true home.

What really surprised me pleasantly was the cards in this deck featured colours, chakras, and herbs as well as crystals.

I would say, try these cards, purchase them from Hay House absolutely if you love symbolism, colour, and fancy trying something new from Doreen Virtue. I don't see you being disappointed - only guided and more inspired by your dreams.

Stop by and let me know how you get on with them, and if you already have them, what do you think of them? Leave your comments below and help other readers who may be new to oracle cards, or wondering if they should purchase them.

Pagan Blog Project 2012 ~ Week 7 ~ Dreams

Merry Meet,

Wow, Week 7 already and I'm still blogging! This is such a huge achievment for me I don't think you could comprehend what it means to me as a blogger as  writer and as a person in society!
Anyway, I want to discuss my knowledge about dreams. So here goes;

I was once told that dreams were very important to me and I agreed, at the time thinking of the dreams I’d had about my then partner being safe and happy ( as he is in the army and was at that time serving in Iraq). This person also told me how they were a communication for me. I just took it that the dreams were telling me that he would be ok. I was right on that one, he was safe and he did come home. However what I failed to realise at the time was how important these dreams were to my life and how I would use these dreams as my special slant on paranormal topics. Let me explain;

I sat down one morning and relayed a dream I’d had the previous night to my mother about an aunt of mine who had passed several years before. The dream itself was about her passing only it was a different scene to the passing that actually occurred. It included many people from the family that had passed before including my uncle who was my aunt’s husband, who I should point out that actually passed before my aunt did, yet in my dream he was still alive, as were my father, and other family members. The intriguing thing in this dream was my eagerness to tell them that the clock had stopped at the time of her passing and it hadn’t started again since. They would not listen and I began to become impatient about this. Back to reality, the time of her passing wasn’t correct on the clock, yet the time on the clock was the time I told my mother about my dream. To add to this the previous night my spiritual guide had been telling me things to write down to do with angelic and afterlife calling cards and place a tick next to those I myself have experienced. I hadn’t listed the phenomenon of clocks stopping at the time of loved ones passing and believe my aunt had given me that dream to remind me of an important one. This particular calling card ; clocks stopping at the time of a passing, was one I had myself experienced when my Nan passed. So to sum it all up my dreams were a connection to the afterlife, my communication just as I had been told. So I want to explain and show you how your loved ones may be trying to guide you through your dreams.

The most common dream that people have is a Precognitive dream which is a predictive dream. I began my afterlife dreaming with one of these dreams when I was 13 years old by predicting plane crashes, which sadly did occur within hours, days, and weeks of my dream. I still remember mum using the old Tele-text service on our TV to show a news story about a plane crash that was exactly like my dream the night before. People have reported of dreaming about the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers before it happened, and have even cancelled trips and flights due to a foreboding dream. It seems that people do take notice of these dreams that are I believe warnings sent to us by our angels and loved ones in the afterlife. As well as warnings, I personally believe that these dreams are asking us to pray for all the souls that will be involved in the crisis.

Dreams have occurred to people that are close to passing in order to prepare them for the afterlife, with many saying that they felt peace and joy and no longer feared death. Many terminally ill patients report of transitional dreams that include a variety of afterlife entering systems. These have included walking through doors, crossing bridges, being guided by a loved one, and even being in a peaceful garden with the most beautiful scenery. My own father prior to his passing reported of seeing my mother with angels, and a visit to the peaceful garden. He even felt as though he had been out of hospital which he hadn’t. Well not physically, but perhaps spiritually he had.

Many people, in fact, 7 out of 10 people will experience the sensation of flying in their dreams at some point in their lives. This is known as an Out-of-Body Experience (OBE). An OBE is where your astral body travels out of the physical one to the astral plane where you are seemingly flying. I can never remember the sensation of flying myself, but I do remember the sensation I feel when I return to my body after an OBE. It feels as though you are falling and then you feel a thud and you’re awake. This is where your astral body is re-entering your physical one. At first when I started to experience this I must admit I found it a bit scary, then I went on to feeling annoyed that it woke me up, but now I really find it quite amusing as upon awakening I wonder to myself ‘where have you just been?’. Have you experienced this?

My favourite type of dream has to be a Dream visitation. Dream visitations are where your loved ones visit you in your dreams perhaps with a message for you. This could be a message to say ‘I love you,’ or ‘I’m ok, please don’t worry’. I’ve had a variety of dream visitations including a message from my father to tell mum that he’s ok and has been healed, which does happen to loved ones who have perhaps had a tough time prior to passing. I’ve also had a dream visitation where I visited my Nan and Granddad in their nice cottage in the afterlife, although the cottage setting was for my benefit rather than theirs.

Another type dream that occurs is a Past life dream, where you dream of your past life, and you recognise it as being such by just knowing and the surroundings being familiar to you. I have experienced a past life dream myself.

I dreamt I was in Egypt where I worked as an embalmer in the tombs. You must realise I have never been to Egypt so I know nothing of the layout of Egypt or the tombs first hand. My job was to embalm the deceased bodies and I refused to place a living cat in one of the tombs. My master found out and I was locked in this tomb over a period of time with no lighting, no food or drink thus dying due to dehydration. Past life dreams interest me deeply and I really think there is a point to them. They can bring up issues from previous lives that need addressing, and when you address them you release yourself from the pain or anxiety it caused you subconsciously. My Past life dream certainly helped me heal from fear of the dead.

Hopefully you can see the interesting paranormal side to dreams and realise they are a communication to you from loved ones and afterlife angels. Remember to write them down, make sure they are dated and keep them in a safe place for in time; they might just hold the key to your destiny.

Pagan Blog Project 2012 -Wk 5 ~ CRAFT NAME

Merry Meet,

Week 5 greets us not only with the energy of a wonderfully blessed Imbolc but of the Pagan Blog Project – C part 1.

I had initially thought of blogging about the Magickal circle we Pagan folk use when conducting a ritual and spell casting, but the Goddess came to me late last night just as I was about to drift off to Fairyland for a meeting with Queen Mab, and told me to write about the Magickal Names we sometimes chose or have given to us as we walk a moonlit pathway of the Goddess. So I will honour the goddesses’ guidance and write about “CRAFT NAMES”.

When I first read about the art of having a craft name I must have been about 14 years old when I read it in Silver RavenWolf’s book (Love or loathe her – I appreciate her writing style).  I felt excited at the prospect of having a name that I chose all for myself. I had always fancied myself as a Crystal MirrorWind or Amethyst RavenMoon, but however lovely those names sounded, it wasn’t for me. I began to think about things and aspects of myself that were true to me. A long soul search later I was dedicated to the Lord and Lady as; Opal AutumnWynd. Let me explain;

Opal ~ my birthstone, Autumn ~ my favourite time of year along with also being the Season of my Birth, and Wynd ~ A spin off of ‘wind’  the element I belong to being of the Sylphs and being a Libran.

However as I grew in both age and craft knowledge I received a visit from the Moon Goddess Artemis one night as we experienced a Waxing moon and she told me that my new craft name was *Aurora MoonMaiden*. She explained the reasoning behind this and it resonated within me. So I have transitioned from Opal AutumnWynd to Aurora MoonMaiden.

I use my craft name sometimes when signing articles or writing blog entries, or emails/letters to fellow Craft friends but mainly use them when speaking with the Goddess or performing a ritual.

I do have a secret craft name that only the Goddess, God and I know, and I like it that way. Sometimes it really is nice to have that little corner of sanctuary in your own life where only you and the Gods know. I know I value the secret of my Craft name and I assume many more of us out there also value it for perhaps the same reasons, or perhaps a more varied reasoning applies. That’s fine.

If there is one thing that I have learnt on my pagan pathway, it is that you absolutely follow your heart in all you do. You do what feels right to you and you honour the God & Goddess within, by doing so, you truly are being the Witch Inside.

Blessed Be,
Aurora MoonMaiden

Random Ramblings

Didn't really know what I wanted to discuss on here tonight, so thought a Random Ramble might be in good order. I just wanted to connect with you all again, and as my super sis said, I just wanted to *Write from my heart*.

I'm working more with crystal energies which is fantastic as I havent felt comfortable with them for a long time, but now, Im discovering a new love for Tigers Eye, Lemurian Seed Quartz, Moldavite and Black Tourmaline. Oh and Moonstone. I cant seem to get on with Rose Quartz at the moment, I'm very receptive to it right now which is a shame.

The past few nights, I've been having strange dreams, last night I dreamt my postman (who is very friendly) decided to send me a note to let me know he wasnt doing his rounds for a week or so cause he'd got Man-Flu.... seriously what was that dream about?!! LOL Crazy Faerie Witch!

On a hugely positive note, University have contacted me today after like 3 months to tell me I can in fact resubmit my last assignment to gain another 30 credit points!! WooHoo!! That has seriously cheered this witch up.

Mum & I are getting on a heck of a lot more, not that we have huge rows, just that we can get quite ratty with each other. We're making plans and having a laugh now.

I got a new WormWood plant too!!!! Im in love with this beauty. Its definately male, and is coming along lovely, so quickly. I am hoping to go back and get another one... no not for me, Im not greedy, but to send in the snail mail all the way to Blackpool to my lovely sis.

im becoming a lot more domesticated of late too! I know, thats a tough one to picture isnt it? I can now boil a kettle and switch the washing machine on LOL

I feel that I want to work more with Ascended Masters, and have been *playing* with my Ascended Master cards, and jotting down writing ideas for articles I want to write. I now need a good kick up the witchy bum to write them lol.

Right well I hope this blog has been of interest to you, and that you're still awake, if you are, well done!!

Blog Soon!!

Witchy Blessings,
Aurora xxx
